Stanford got some fantastic news early Tuesday, as Bryce Love is returning for his senior season, opting against the 2018 NFL Draft.

Love's father confirmed the news to Tom FitzGerald of the San Francisco Chronicle after the deadline to declare for the draft passed Monday.

The Heisman Trophy finalist faced a daunting task in replacing Christian McCaffrey this season and did not disappoint. Love ran for a whopping 2,118 yards, good for second in the country, while also finding the end zone 19 times on the ground. His 8.1 yards per rush was the best in FBS history, topping the mark set by Mike Rozier in 1983.

Love's decision to return for a final season with the Cardinal certainly will have him among the favorites for the Heisman in 2018. He also sits just under 1,200 yards shy of Stepfan Taylor's record for career rushing yards by a Stanford player.
