It appears that Manny Machado and the Baltimore Orioles will head to an arbitration hearing.

The three-time All-Star and his team failed to come to terms on a salary for 2018, according to a source of Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun.

Machado, 25, was projected to earn $17.3 million, according to MLB Trade Rumors, but the outcome of his 2018 salary won't be determined until Jan. 29 when arbitration hearings are set to begin.

The two-time Gold Glove winner and frequent MVP candidate has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors during the offseason and will become a free agent at the end of the 2018 campaign.

Machado appeared in 156 games for Baltimore last season, hitting .259/.310/.471 with 33 home runs and 95 RBIs.
