Attacking midfielder Alex Pritchard ditched middling Championship side Norwich City for the greener pastures of the Premier League on Friday, joining Huddersfield Town on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Sky Sports understands Huddersfield paid around £12 million for Pritchard's services.

Pritchard turned heads during his time with the Canaries, his bustling style of play and incisive passes enlivening what's been an otherwise bleak season in Norfolk.

A product of Tottenham's academy, the 24-year-old made a pair of Premier League appearances for Spurs before a series of loan spells led him to Norwich.

"I'm very happy to be able to welcome Alex to Huddersfield Town," manager David Wagner said in a statement. "He is exactly the type of player that we like to work with at this club. Alex is a young, British player who arrives as one of the top performers in the Sky Bet Championship and with a desire to prove himself in the Premier League."

Pritchard impressed in his final match for Norwich, putting Chelsea's defenders under pressure in last weekend's FA Cup stalemate.

He was also prolific in the 2014-15 season with Brentford, scoring 12 league goals to win a place in the Championship Team of the Year.
