Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy shook up his coaching staff Thursday, announcing that defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer will not be retained.

"I'm very appreciative for the 10 years of loyal service that Glenn Spencer gave to Oklahoma State," Gundy said in an official statement obtained by George Schroeder of USA TODAY Sports.

Spencer just completed his fifth season as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the Cowboys, after coaching strictly linebackers from 2009-13 and the defensive line in 2008.

In 2017, Oklahoma State ranked 33rd in rushing yards allowed per game (140.7), 69th in red-zone scoring percentage against (83.72%), 76th in points allowed per game (29.4), and 114th in passing yards allowed per game (268.6).
