Alabama's McDonald awake and alert after sideline collapse

Alabama defensive back Kyriq McDonald was stretchered from the Crimson Tide's sidelines Monday after collapsing during the College Football Playoff National Championship against Georgia.
An Alabama spokesman described the incident as a "non-athletic medical issue." ESPN sideline reporter Tom Rinaldi said McDonald was awake and alert as he was carted off the field, according to Alex Scarborough of ESPN.
McDonald, a freshman, spent the season in a reserve role for Alabama.
