Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of Liverpool's Boxing Day match against Swansea City after picking up an injury during Friday's draw with Arsenal, manager Jurgen Klopp revealed on Sunday.

The injury, which occurred 10 minutes into the contest at the Emirates Stadium, comes at in inopportune moment as Klopp's men compete in three matches over a six-day span.

Liverpool will then quickly prepare for dates with Leicester City (Dec. 30) and Burnley (Jan. 1).

The Merseyside club is in relatively good health, as defender Joel Matip could be available for Tuesday's match after returning to training following a November injury.

The Reds occupy fourth place in the Premier League table after accumulating 35 points at the midway stage of the season.
