Just one season after Donnel Pumphrey set the San Diego State record for rushing yards in a single season, Rashaad Penny shattered that number with a hot start to Saturday's Armed Forces Bowl.

Penny entered Saturday's game against Army trailing Pumphrey's total of 2,133 yards by 106, but quickly got closer to that number with an 81-yard touchdown run on the opening series. He passed the mark on a scoring play as well, punching it in from 32 yards out to start the second quarter, which etched his name into the record book

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound senior will almost certainly be joining his good friend Pumphrey, who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, in the NFL next season.
