Kiffin agrees to new 10-year deal with Florida Atlantic

Jasen Vinlove / USA Today Sports

Lane Kiffin has agreed to terms on a new 10-year contract with Florida Atlantic, both parties confirmed to Chris Low of ESPN.

The first-year coach led the Owls to 10 wins and a Conference USA title in 2017, marking an incredible turnaround for a program that failed to win more than three games in each of the previous three seasons. He'll lead Florida Atlantic - winners of nine straight contests - into the Boca Raton Bowl versus Akron on Tuesday night.

Still only 42 years old, Kiffin was rumored to be on the radar of several Power 5 teams this offseason, though he never appeared close to leaving Boca Raton.

Prior to inheriting the Florida Atlantic job, Kiffin spent four years as Nick Saban's offensive coordinator at Alabama. He had roller-coaster head-coaching tenures at USC, Tennessee, and the Oakland Raiders before that.
