Report: Cardinals favorites to land Marlins' Ozuna
After missing out on Giancarlo Stanton, the St. Louis Cardinals have shifted their focus to another Miami Marlins star on the block.
The Cardinals have reportedly "emerged as the favorites" to acquire All-Star outfielder Marcell Ozuna, according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.
Ozuna is coming off the best season of his five-year career, hitting .312/.376/.548 with 37 home runs, 30 doubles, and 124 RBIs in 159 games while playing almost exclusively in left field.
The 27-year-old is under team control through the next two seasons, and is projected to earn $10.9 million in arbitration this winter.
In addition to the Cardinals, the Washington Nationals, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, Colorado Rockies, and Texas Rangers have reportedly expressed interest in Ozuna.
