With first-choice shot-stopper Manuel Neuer out with a broken foot, Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich has been linked with stop-gap solutions between the sticks for the impending January transfer window.

One 'keeper they've been linked to is Bayer Leverkusen's Bernd Leno, though Bayern's quickly rebuffed the idea, releasing a statement Monday that denies an approach for the 25-year-old.

Referencing a story in German publication Bild, Bayern's statement calls reports "a total duck." Club sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic added, "We are very satisfied with our goalkeepers."

Bayern's statement also threatens legal action against Bild. The club previously took the same approach against a different outlet over reports involving moves for Arturo Vidal and Joshua Kimmich.

In Neuer's absence, Sven Ulreich has been handed the first-choice gloves. Despite a rocky start that mirrored Bayern's uncharacteristically poor opening to the campaign under Carlo Ancelotti, matters have improved for the longtime deputy. Set to retire at season's end, Tom Starke, 36, has been Ulreich's back-up, and made his first start of the season in Saturday's 1-0 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Neuer, who is still sporting a protective boot, is expected back the first week of March after suffering a metatarsal fracture in September.
