Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann was arrested Saturday in Gainseville, Fla. on charges of domestic battery and false imprisonment following an altercation with his wife, independent wrestler Vannarah Riggs.

The Gainesville Police Department confirmed the news Sunday on Twitter:

According to the police report, the couple was driving away after Riggs, who goes by the ring name Su Yung, performed at 8 Seconds nightclub when they began arguing. Swann was critiquing Riggs and getting angry with her, leading to Riggs exiting the vehicle while it was stopped in the middle of traffic. Swann allegedly chased after Riggs and grabbed her by her arm and then around her neck, placing her in a headlock and shoving her back into the car.

A witness observed Riggs jump out of the car again as it was moving and Swann chase after her, after which the vehicle hit a telephone poll.

Swann has been suspended indefinitely by WWE, with a representative telling Pro Wrestling Sheet, "WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence." He was scheduled to face Drew Gulak on Monday night's episode of "Raw" to determine who would challenge Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
