Fisher hasn't spoken to QB Francois since leaving Florida State

Jimbo Fisher and Deondre Francois still haven't spoken since the coach's departure from Florida State, which left the former quarterback sour.

In an interview Saturday morning on "College GameDay," Fisher said Francois wasn't required to attend the team meeting at which he disclosed his move to Texas A&M because the standout pivot was injured and occupied with academics.

"I left him a phone message," Fisher said, according to Brad Crawford of 247 Sports. "He was a tremendous young man to recruit and coach and he'll have an unbelievable career."

Fisher, who was officially introduced by the Aggies on Dec. 4, added that both sides have been too busy to make contact. Francois was frustrated with the way Fisher handled his exit, posting a critical tweet when Florida State announced Dec. 1 he wouldn't return to the program in 2018.

Francois suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of 2017, but looked to be Fisher's next quarterback prodigy at Florida State as a freshman last year.
