Mark Hunt can finally get back to doing what he does best.

After the UFC heavyweight obtained clearance from doctors to keep competing in response to his removal from November's UFC Fight Night 121 due to medical reasons, the promotion confirmed the 43-year-old was healthy enough to resume his career in the cage in a statement released to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani on Thursday:

After a full medical analysis at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, UFC confirms that heavyweight athlete Mark Hunt has been cleared to compete.

Hunt was unexpectedly pulled from his date with Marcin Tybura earlier this fall after listing the ill effects of his lengthy fighting career in a piece he penned for PlayersVoice. The knockout artist wasted little time claiming he'd been yanked from the bill in Sydney for suing the UFC in relation to Brock Lesnar's failed drug tests surrounding their bout at UFC 200 - allegations president Dana White denied shortly thereafter.

Cooler heads appeared to have prevailed when Hunt opted to fly to Vegas for tests, with his manager revealing he'd been issued a clean bill of health earlier this week.

As for who he'd like to face in his return to action, Hunt has reportedly set his sights on a rematch with Fabricio Werdum at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia. He most recently competed in Auckland, New Zealand, at UFC Fight Night 110, where he finished Derrick Lewis by fourth-round TKO.
