Cavs come back vs. Kings, tie franchise record with 13th straight win

The Cleveland Cavaliers have matched the longest winning streak in franchise history.

The Cavs rallied from 14 down to beat the Sacramento Kings 101-95 Wednesday night for their 13th straight victory, equaling two streaks they put together back in 2009 and 2010, when LeBron James was still in his first go-round with the organization.

James came out slinging fire Wednesday, on his way to a game-high nine assists.

But the Cavs as a whole were sluggish and out of sorts, getting beat on the boards, piling up turnovers, and allowing the Kings to control the middle of the floor. They went into the break down nine points, and promptly surrendered a 5-0 lead to start the third quarter.

James cranked up the volume after that, getting a huge boost from the increasingly reliable bench trio of Kyle Korver, Dwyane Wade, and Jeff Green. The Cavs locked down on defense, surrendering just 38 points in the second half, and took the lead for good on a driving layup from James with 1:36 to play.

Eighty seconds later, after they'd forced a 24-second violation and extended a possession courtesy of an offensive rebound from Green, James stuck in the dagger.

The Cavaliers are now 18-7 after sparking some concern with a messy 5-7 start. They'll have a chance to set the new franchise record when they play the Pacers in Indiana on Friday.
