LeBron urges fans to appreciate longevity: 'It looks easy, but it's not'

Not only is LeBron James showing no signs of slowing down, but he somehow continues to get even better in his 15th season.

James is averaging career highs in field-goal percentage and 3-point percentage despite the overwhelming wear and tear of playing in seven straight Finals. And it's a given that he'll provide nearly 30 points per night while adding eight assists, eight rebounds, and game-changing defense whenever he feels like trying his best.

The King just hopes fans appreciate how difficult it is to sustain that type of production.

"I think people have just grown accustomed of what I do and it gets taken for granted at times what I do because I do it so often and it’s been a constant thing for so long," he told ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"It’s like, 'Oh, that’s what LeBron’s supposed to do.' It looks easy, but it’s not."

The scariest part, as his Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Channing Frye pointed out, is that James isn't even giving it his all at the moment. As usual, James is pacing himself during the regular season in preparation for yet another deep playoff push.

LeBron himself admitted that he's only operating at 80 percent capacity, and that he'll gradually increase his intensity as the postseason nears.

"I can play better. But I think right now I’m in a really good groove. But for me every month I get better and better. That’s how I’ve been in my career. I get stronger and stronger as the months go on. I just want to continue that," James said.

"I want to continue to get better and better every month. This is December, I’m at 80. January I’ll be at 85, I'll be at 90 in February, I'll be at 95 in March and then when playoffs start I'll be at 100 all the way up hopefully until June. Hopefully I can continue that."
