The five English teams in the Champions League are off to the knockout rounds, a feat that no other nation has accomplished in the tournament's history.

Liverpool was the only team yet to book a place in the Round of 16 heading into the final group stage match, but Jurgen Klopp's men scored three times in the opening half-hour en route to a decisive 7-0 victory Wednesday.

The Merseyside outfit joins Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Manchester United in the next phase of the competition.

Of the English teams to qualify, only Chelsea failed to finish first in its group.

It marks the first time since the 2013-14 season that all English clubs have advanced beyond the group stage.

There has not been a Champions League winner from England since Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in 2012.
