Add Arkansas to the list of college programs that have found a new leader in recent weeks.

The university announced Wednesday that it has hired Chad Morris to a six-year contract to become the next head coach of the Razorbacks. The deal is worth $3.5 million annually, plus incentives.

The news come less than a day after it was reported the two sides were expected to strike a deal. Details of the contract were not immediately made public and the school is expected to introduce Morris on Wednesday afternoon.

The progress Morris was able to make during his three-year tenure with the Mustangs is noteworthy, considering he took a team that went 1-11 the year prior to his hiring and turned them into a 7-5 team that will now compete in the Frisco Bowl against Louisiana Tech.

Morris boasts an overall record of 14-22 with the Mustangs, and will take over for the departed Bret Bielema, who was fired on Nov. 24.
