South Carolina fires OC Kurt Roper

South Carolina's coaching staff underwent a change Wednesday, as head coach Will Muschamp announced offensive coordinator Kurt Roper has been relieved of his duties.

"After much deliberation, I have decided to go in a different direction with the offensive coordinator position on our football team," Muschamp said. "We appreciate Kurt's contributions to our program and to the university and wish him all the best."

Muschamp also confirmed co-offensive coordinator Bryan McClendon will call offensive plays for the Gamecocks' Outback Bowl appearance against Michigan, and Roper's replacement won't be named until after the bowl game.
