It's full steam ahead for the coaching carousel in college football, and one surprising development has been former NFL head coach Herm Edward's inclusion in Arizona State's search.

Edwards, currently an analyst for ESPN, addressed his upcoming interview with the Sun Devils during Wednesday's morning edition of SportsCenter, citing a still-burning fire for coaching as well as a matching philosophy with Arizona State athletic director Ray Anderson.

"I've coached the Under Armour All-American team every year for eight years. Believe it or not, that is one of the funnest weeks I have," Edwards said. "Every year I look forward to coaching that game. Why? It's young, talented players that come out of high school that are about to commit to go to college. I've dealt with these guys the last eight years. It's fun. At heart, I'm still a coach. I'm always a coach.

"It has to be the right fit. Coaching is about fits and this is a place where Ray Anderson is there. I know the man. We have the same kind of philosophy on things we want to do, so I'm going to go down there and have a conversation and see what happens."

Edwards last led in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, and owns a 54-74 overall record between stints with the Chiefs and the New York Jets. His last collegiate experience came as a defensive backs coach with San Jose State from 1987-89.
