Clemson and Auburn took over the top two spots in the latest College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings.

Rank Team Record Previous Rank
1 Clemson 11-1 3
2 Auburn 10-2 6
3 Oklahoma 11-1 4
4 Wisconsin 12-0 5

The defending national champions surged from No. 3 to No. 1, while Auburn climbed from No. 6 to No. 2. Clemson will take on No. 7 Miami in the ACC Championship Game. Miami dropped five spots after losing its first game of the season to Pitt, and will need a massive result to get back into title contention.

Previously top-ranked Alabama slid from No. 1 to No. 5 after losing to Auburn in the Iron Bowl. It's the first time the Crimson Tide have fallen out of the top four since Nov. 11, 2014. They'll remain idle, as Auburn takes on No. 6 Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

Oklahoma moved up one spot to No. 3 and will face off against No. 11 TCU for the Big 12 title.

Notre Dame stumbled from No. 8 to No. 15 following a 38-20 loss to Stanford. Stanford, incidentally, is the biggest riser in the poll, ascending from No. 21 to No. 12, while Mississippi State took the biggest fall, descending from No. 14 to No. 23.
