Everton was fined €30,000 by UEFA on Tuesday for "aggressions by supporters against players" in a Europa League match with Lyon on Oct. 19.

The incident attracted controversy due to it involving a fan carrying a small child who appeared to push Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. The supporter was leaning into a shoving match sparked by Ashley Williams during the 2-1 home defeat.

The Toffees vowed to take action against the fan which would "include a ban from attending future Everton fixtures" after images of the incident were clearly seen in television footage.

Everton is marooned at the bottom of Group E on a solitary point, and is already unable to qualify for the Europa League knockout rounds. The Merseyside outfit still has to complete two matches of this phase, beginning a visit from Atalanta on Thursday, and concluding with a trip to Apollon Limassol on Dec. 7.
