CFP Rankings: Miami jumps Clemson for No. 2 spot

Alabama remains atop the College Football Rankings, but Miami jumped over Clemson to claim the No. 2 position, while Oklahoma held steady in the fourth spot in the latest version of the poll.

The Hurricanes moved to 10-0 with a win Saturday over Virginia, while Clemson blew out an FCS team in The Citadel. The two ACC schools will meet in the conference championship game in a couple weeks, which will likely knock one out of the playoff picture.

1 Alabama 11-0 1
2 Miami 10-0 3
3 Clemson 10-1 2
4 Oklahoma 10-1 4

"We see characteristics of a championship-caliber team with Miami," CFP chair Kirby Hocutt said of the decision to swap the Canes and Tigers. "... They have the ever-slight margin ahead of No. 3 Clemson this week."

The rest of the rankings shaped up much like they did a week ago, with Wisconsin and Auburn leading the outside contenders at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

The biggest mover in the poll was Oklahoma State, which fell six spots to No. 19 following an upset loss at home to Kansas State.
