Kevin Durant is nursing a left ankle sprain and has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Brooklyn Nets, the Golden State Warriors announced.

It's unclear when the All-NBA forward suffered the injury or how severe it is, but the Warriors are holding him out in the second night of a back-to-back. ESPN's Chris Haynes reports Durant's status will be determined on a day-to-day basis.

He logged 33 minutes in Saturday's come-from-behind win over the Philadelphia 76ers, notching 27 points, five rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals.

The tilt in Brooklyn will mark the second contest Durant's missed this season, having been sidelined for Golden State's Nov. 8 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a left thigh injury.

The eight-time All-Star is averaging 27.2 points, seven rebounds, 4.9 dimes, and 2.2 blocks this season for the 12-4 Dubs. His next chance to play will come Wednesday when the Warriors visit his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the meantime, Andre Iguodala, Patrick McCaw, and Omri Casspi could get more burn in his absence.
