Chris Coleman is at the Stadium of Light.

On Sunday, Coleman was announced as Sunderland's manager, as the Welsh tactician put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal and took charge of his first training session with the Black Cats in the morning.

"It's an honour to be appointed the manager of Sunderland AFC and I'm over the moon that the club believes I am the right man," Coleman said. "The club worked incredibly hard to make sure we were a good fit to show me the potential that can be achieved here." The manager added: "I believe that every person at this football club, every player and every support has a part to play in getting us back to where we belong."

Coleman resigned from his position as Wales manager on Friday, bringing an end to a historic spell in which the Dragons flew to Euro 2016 and reached the semi-finals. Sunderland marks the fifth club of his managerial career, as he was previously in charge of Fulham, Real Sociedad, Coventry City, and AEL.

Coleman's debut as Sunderland manager will come on Wednesday, when the Black Cats, who are last in the Championship, invade Aston Villa.

Sunderland made some depressing history on Saturday, as a 2-2 draw versus Millwall meant that the Black Cats became the first league club in the history of English football to go winless in 20 consecutive home games.
