Sunderland becomes 1st English club to go winless in 20 straight home tilts

The Black Cats are well and truly jinxed.

On Saturday, Sunderland became the first league team in English football to record no wins in 20 consecutive matches at home in all competitions, mustering only a 2-2 draw against Millwall at the Stadium of Light to cement this record in futility.

Currently sitting dead last in the English Championship, Sunderland's last taste of home victory came back on Dec. 17, 2016, in a 1-0 win over Watford. Since then, the Black Cats have lost 11 and drawn nine matches, with managers David Moyes and Simon Grayson sacked in that time.

While it may be a new low for the club, the job of righting the ship now falls to Chris Coleman, who is expected to take over at Sunderland after stepping down from his post as manager of Wales on Friday.
