Brandel Chamblee doesn't think Tiger can compete with young guns

Former PGA Tour pro Brandel Chamblee doesn't feel Tiger Woods' comeback will be any different this time around.

Chamblee was asked in an interview with Golf.com's Ryan Asselta if the 14-time major champ can challenge the younger generation for supremacy on tour, and the Golf Channel analyst was direct in his response.

"No is the short answer. If you do an internet search of the greatest sports comebacks from injury, you'll get a litany of injuries," said Chamblee.

He added: "The one thing you will not get is a bad back followed by great athletic achievement. You're just not going to get it, especially a bad back by a 41-year-old, four back surgeries in the last three or four years."

Woods has not played a PGA Tour event since the Farmers Insurance Open in January, but is set to return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge in two weeks' time.

Rickie Fowler provided Tiger fans with a glimmer of hope earlier this week, saying the 41-year-old is bombing the ball way past him in practice.
