Watch: Villalba wins 2017 Goal of the Year, Guzan wins Save of the Year

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta United's Hector Villalba has been awarded the 2017 MLS Goal of the Year award for his spectacular strike against Orlando City. The 86th-minute goal not only beat goalkeeper Joe Bendik top corner, but also secured a late 1-0 win and confirmed a four-match winning streak for the Five Stripes.

Meanwhile, Villalba's teammate and U.S. international goalkeeper Brad Guzan was awarded the 2017 MLS Save of the Year for his short-range stop on New York Red Bulls striker Bradley Wright-Phillips. His quick reaction denied Wright-Phillips from close range, securing a 0-0 draw on the road.

The two pick up their individual accolades following a fan vote, which Atlanta United supporters seemingly overwhelmed in their respective players' favor. Villalba succeeds Colorado Rapids attacker Shkelzen Gashi for the Goal of the Year prize, while Guzan follows Bendik in the line of Save of the Year winners.
