Josh Allen could be facing some time away from the gridiron.

The Wyoming quarterback is set to undergo X-rays on his throwing shoulder Monday after suffering a sprained AC joint Saturday against Air Force, according to Brandon Foster of The Casper-Star Tribune, citing a Facebook post from Allen's mother.

The junior was forced from the contest after completing 8 of 11 passes for 70 yards along with one passing and one rushing touchdown. Allen is widely regarded as an elite NFL prospect and a possible first-round pick in the 2018 draft.

Allen has completed 56.2 percent of his passes for 1,658 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, coupled with six interceptions. He has also shown versatility in the run game, rushing for 207 yards and five touchdowns.
