Iowa stuns No. 6 Ohio State in blowout victory

Jeffrey Becker / USA TODAY Sports

Nathan Stanley threw five touchdowns Saturday, leading Iowa to a 55-24 seismic upset of No. 6 Ohio State.

The Buckeyes, who entered the game as 21-point favorites after defeating Penn State, dropped to 7-2 with the loss.

Akrum Wadley rushed for 118 yards on 20 carries, while T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant added two receiving touchdowns each, as the Hawkeyes cruised to victory.

J.T. Barrett struggled immensely Saturday, going 18-for-34 for 208 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions. It was a stark contrast from Barrett's fourth-quarter heroics last week against the Nittany Lions, when he threw three touchdowns in the final stanza to lead an epic comeback victory.

Saturday saw Ohio State surrender the most points in the Urban Meyer era and marked the program's worst Big Ten loss since 1994.
