Stanford's Love to return from ankle injury vs. Washington State
Sergio Estrada / USA TODAY Sports
Stanford running back Bryce Love will play this weekend against Washington State after missing last week's contest with an ankle injury, the team announced Friday.
The Cardinal struggled in Love's absence against Oregon State, escaping with a narrow 15-14 victory. Despite missing the game, Love still leads the nation in rushing with nearly 1,400 yards and is considered one of the top contenders for the Heisman.
There will be a different quarterback handing the ball off to Love this week, as head coach David Shaw announced Thursday that KJ Costello will get the call behind center in place of Keller Chryst.
