Ian Baker-Finch was impressed with what he saw from Tiger Woods on Tuesday at Medalist Golf Club.

The CBS golf analyst watched Woods hit balls on the practice range, while also seeing him flight some shots around the Hobe Sound, Fla. golf course, and liked what he witnessed from the 41-year-old.

"His swing was smooth. He looked normal," Baker-Finch told Brian Wacker of Golf Digest.

Woods hasn't played a competitive round since withdrawing from the Dubai Dessert Classic in February, eventually undergoing a fourth back operation in April.

"Obviously it’s easier when you’re in your own environment with your buddies than when it’s for real," added the 1991 Open champion. "But he looks to me like he can play golf. I guess a lot of people thought he would never play golf again."

The 14-time major champion has been updating his progress on social media, releasing a series of swing videos, with his latest coming Monday, showing off his "stinger."
