Mike Leach hires investigator to look into Texas Tech officials

Mike Leach is hiring an investigator to dig up information on Texas Tech officials, according to Brent Schrotenboer of USA TODAY Sports.

Wayne Dolcefino, the head of Dolcefino Consulting, said they will do whatever they can to dig up dirt on the Red Raiders officials.

"We’re going to get into their stuff, OK?" Dolcefino said. "If they want to be weasels and not pay the guy, then they won’t pay him. But we’re going to look under every nook and cranny. We’re starting with phone records."

Leach contends Texas Tech still owes him money from when he was fired as head coach in 2009 after allegations that he mistreated a player. The Red Raiders claim he was fired for cause.

"It is indisputable that they owe the money, whether the state of Texas will let them snake out of it or not," Leach wrote in a text message. "How many other people has Tech cheated over the years? By exposing these abuses of power, maybe we can get the sovereign immunity law in Texas changed and me and others can get paid."

Leach is claiming he's owed $1.6 million in guaranteed income and an $800,000 retention bonus that was due Dec. 31, 2009, one day after he was fired.
