Spieth pokes fun at himself over famous Birkdale tee shot

Jordan Spieth is getting ready for the 2018 PGA Tour season, but he's still remembering one incident from 2017.

"Starting prep for the 2018 season," wrote Spieth on Instagram. "More fairways and fewer tee balls onto the driving range!"

The driving range Spieth alludes to is the tee shot he hit in the final round of the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale's 13th hole. The Texan's drive famously missed well right of the fairway, forcing Spieth to take a penalty drop on the practice range, where he would battle to an unbelievable bogey.

Earlier in the week, Spieth donated the 3-iron that he played from the drop to Birkdale as a memento from his major triumph.
