High school runner Sean Rausch showed incredible sportsmanship Wednesday at the cross country Utah state championship, carrying injured teammate Blake Lewis to the finish line after he broke his tibia.

Lewis told Dora Scheidell of FOX 13 that he was 400 meters from the finish line when he felt a sharp pain in his leg. At 200 meters, he felt his bone snap.

State championship rules prohibit runners from touching each other during a meet, but Rausch stopped to help anyway.

"I put him on my shoulders and he was screaming the whole way, but I kept telling him, 'We're a family, we're a team, and we're all in this together,'" Rausch said.
