Fresno State's Ronnie Rivers: Working way back from elbow injury

Rivers (elbow) participated in individual drills with full pads during practice on Wednesday, triggering hope the freshman will be available for a critical Week Eight matchup at San Diego State, The Fresno Bee reports.

Analysis:

Head coach Jeff Tedford tells the Fresno Bee that Rivers, who left last week's win over New Mexico in the second quarter with an elbow injury, "did really good" in practice on Wednesday and "has his strength back and everything." Should Fresno State's leading rusher on the year (65 carries, 344 yards, five touchdowns) for some reason not be available versus the Aztecs, however, fantasy owners can expect to see Jordan Mims, Josh Hokit and Dejonte O'Neal evenly splitting carries against an SDSU rush defense currently surrendering 134.6 yards per game this season.
