A statue in front of Safeco Field was defaced on Tuesday by vandals who cut a bat out of the bronzed hands of famous Seattle Mariners outfielder Ken Griffey Jr.
Although the piece had been recovered by police, it wasn't exactly in the best shape.
Photos of the damaged piece of art were posted to Twitter by MLB.com's Greg Johns on Wednesday which clearly show how destroyed it was by the vandalism.
The Seattle Police Department announced they've arrested one suspect for the crime involving the statue which was erected outside the stadium this past April.
Griffey Jr. was inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame in 2016 after recording a lifetime slash line of .284/.370/.538 with 630 home runs and 1,836 RBIs.
