Report: Kendrick Perkins joins Cavs' G League squad

Kendrick Perkins isn't ready to hang 'em up just yet.

The veteran center has agreed to join the Cleveland Cavaliers' G League team, the Canton Charge, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Perkins joined the Cavs for training camp, but was waived on Saturday. Head coach Tyronn Lue had even suggested Perkins could join the team as an assistant coach.

Perkins, who turns 33 next month, last played meaningful NBA minutes in 2015-16 with the New Orleans Pelicans. While he wasn't considered an efficient contributor for years prior to that, the Texan is a well-respected teammate who is lauded as a clubhouse leader.
