The San Antonio Stars will soon be calling Sin City their home.

The owner of the WNBA franchise has an agreement in place to sell the team to a buyer who would then move it to Las Vegas, sources told ESPN's Michael C. Wright.

Final approval from both the WNBA and NBA Board of Governors is needed before the deal can come to fruition, although it's expected to be completed since it's been in the works for quite some time.

Spurs Sports and Entertainment owns the Stars, as well as the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. The company sent out an official statement late Thursday night:

The Stars finished last in the Western Conference this past season with an 8-26 record, marking the third straight year they possessed the league's worst record. Their last winning record was in 2012 at 21-13.
