Altuve becomes 9th MLB player to hit 3 HRs in playoff game

Jose Altuve joined elite company in the first game of the American League Division Series against the Boston Red Sox, becoming the ninth player in MLB history to record at least three home runs in a single postseason game.

The Houston Astros second baseman's solo shot off of Austin Maddox in the seventh inning put his club up 8-2 in Game 1 of the ALDS after he hit a pair of homers off Chris Sale in the first and fifth innings.

While he's the ninth player to hit a trio of dingers in a postseason game, it's the 10th time the feat has happened, with Babe Ruth pulling it off twice.
