Harbaugh: Michigan State 'will be the biggest game in a lot of our careers'

It's rivalry week for Michigan, as the Wolverines face local rival Michigan State this Saturday, and it will be doing so with a new man under center.

With Wilton Speight out due to injury, head coach Jim Harbaugh is turning to John O'Korn to be his starting quarterback against the Spartans. While it's certainly a big moment for the new pivot, Harbaugh was quick to stress that it's no different for the rest of the team.

"Just like everybody on the team, we're all going (in to it) as this will be the biggest game in a lot of our careers. That's where it starts," Harbaugh said on a conference call Tuesday, as per Nick Baumgardner of the Detroit Free Press. "Fully understanding the preparation. Feel like that's the best way to have a mental edge."

The Wolverines won last year's contest for the first time since 2012, and enter play this time as double-digit home favorites. Once again the team is led by its dominant defense, but O'Korn will have to play mistake-free football if Michigan is going to make it two in a row over the Spartans.
