Report: Dolan 'furious' about Knicks subway ads, orders them taken down

Well, the fun could only last briefly.

Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan is "furious" about FOX Sports 1's "pick a side" New York Knicks subway advertisements, according to SNY's Adam Zagoria, and has ordered them taken down, ESPN's Darren Rovell reports.

The ad campaign popped up Tuesday on various MTA subway trains. One side of a train was painted "hopeful," while the other was "hopeless."

It should be noted the "hopeful" side featured images of Michael Beasley and Mindaugas Kuzminskas.

The ad campaign includes other Gotham teams, including the Yankees. However, the Knicks recent history is an easy target, and only the Jets have gone longer among New York's major pro sports franchises without a league championship.

Dolan's lack of a sense of humor about his team is well known, and according to Zagoria, the owner called FOX chairman Rupert Murdoch directly about the matter.
