Twins leave ailing Sano off AL wild-card roster
The Minnesota Twins will have to find a way into the American League Division Series without slugger Miguel Sano, as the ailing 24-year-old was omitted from their 25-man roster for Tuesday's wild-card game against the New York Yankees.
Sano unexpectedly rejoined the Twins on Friday after spending the previous five weeks nursing a stress reaction in his shin, but the newly minted All-Star was clearly affected by his injury. He couldn't run at full speed over the final three games of the regular season, and went just 1-for-8 with three strikeouts.
Here's how their 25-man roster breaks down:
Pitchers (11)
Matt Belisle, Jose Berrios, Buddy Boshers, Alan Busenitz, Tyler Duffey, Dillon Gee, Trevor Hildenberger, Adalberto Mejia, Ryan Pressly, Taylor Rogers, Ervin Santana
