Look: Knicks' despair magnified in NYC subway ad campaign

The New York Knicks enter this season with little talent and even less hope, and fans commuting around the city may not be able to escape that cold, hard truth.

FanRag Sports' Jared Mintz shared photos Monday of an FS1 ad campaign plastered all over a New York City subway train, featuring messages about the struggles of the franchise over the past few decades and general pessimism on the club's outlook.

Another Twitter user replied with a photo of perhaps the most ruthless message, containing just a Joakim Noah jersey. The team signed the 32-year-old to a $72-million deal last summer, and it hasn't exactly worked out so far.

The Knicks traded away their best player this offseason, sending Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder after he told them he didn't want to return. They also brought back Tim Hardaway Jr. on a reported four-year, $71-million deal, which many criticized.

Twitter user Alex Busch‏ responded, saying it's actually a two-sided train saying "pick a side" and not entirely critical of the club. Without seeing the other side, you'd imagine it has to feature budding star Kristaps Porzingis, who represents the lone bright spot on the roster and the cornerstone the team is rebuilding around.

Update: Busch was right.
