Michigan will be forced to make a big offensive adjustment moving forward, as head coach Jim Harbaugh announced Monday that quarterback Wilton Speight will be sidelined for multiple weeks after suffering an injury against Purdue on Sept. 23, according to Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated.

Harbaugh also confirmed backup John O'Korn has been elevated to the starting role beginning Saturday against Michigan State.

Speight was forced from the Wolverines' last contest against the Boilermakers after being hit in the back of his helmet during a sack, though the senior walked to the locker room under his own power. Harbaugh said following the game that Speight was dealing with a soft tissue injury, but no further specifics have been made public.

Speight closed out the regular season dealing with the injury bug last year, but has managed to keep the Wolverines perfect in 2017. The senior completed 54.3 percent of his passes for 581 yards and three touchdowns compared to two interceptions prior to getting injured.

O'Korn meanwhile, is on the verge of his first extended stint as a starting quarterback since his last season with Houston in 2014.
