Astros' McCullers to start Game 4 of ALCS

Troy Taormina / USA TODAY Sports

Following the Houston Astros' loss in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series, manager A.J. Hinch said that Lance McCullers Jr. would get the ball for Game 4 on Monday, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

McCullers last appeared in the postseason during Game 3 of the AL Division Series against the Boston Red Sox, pitching three innings of relief. The 24-year-old right-hander allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four.

The last time McCullers made a postseason start was back in 2015 during the ALDS against the Kansas City Royals; a wild Game 4 win in which the Royals came back from a 6-2 deficit with seven runs between the eighth and ninth frames.

Over 118 2/3 innings in the regular season this year, McCullers owns a 4.25 ERA and 3.10 FIP.
