Alabama's Hand vows to return 'sooner than later' from knee injury
Alabama absolutely annihilated Ole Miss by a score of 66-3 Saturday, but that victory didn't come without a price, as defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand was forced from the game with an apparent knee injury.
Fortunately for Crimson Tide fans, it appears that Hand may not miss extended time. The senior tweeted an encouraging update Sunday, proclaiming he will be back "sooner than later."
Head coach Nick Saban said following the game that he believed Hand likely suffered an MCL strain, but wouldn't know for sure until the player underwent tests Sunday, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com.
No official diagnosis has been announced.
Hand, a former No. 6 overall recruit in the class of 2014, has become a leader on defense for the Crimson Tide. His continued presence will play a big part in Alabama's attempt to return to the national championship game for the third consecutive season.
