Houston's Oliver suffered knee injury vs. Temple

Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver suffered a knee injury against Temple on Saturday that prevented him from returning to the game.

Oliver will undergo an MRI when the team arrives in Houston.

Cougars head coach Major Applewhite couldn't offer much of an update on the severity of the ailment.

"I wish I could give you specifics," Applewhite said after the game, according to Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle. "I don't know the extent of the injury."

The sophomore is one player Houston can't afford to lose for a significant amount of time, as Oliver was a preseason All-American and a top-five recruit in the 2016 class.
