Auburn president Steven Leath refuted a report that stated the university and its board of trustees were planning to fire athletic director Jay Jacobs.

"The report is inaccurate," Leath said to Auburn Undercover. "Jay Jacobs is the athletics director, and I have had no such conference call with the Board of Trustees."

It was reported Friday evening by AL.com that Leath, along with the university's board of trustees, began discussions to fire Jacobs before the end of the football season.

Auburn's men's basketball team is under an FBI investigation and the team began issuing refunds to season-ticket holders this week. Associate head coach Chuck Person was suspended without pay Tuesday after receiving over $91,000 in bribes.
