UFC alumni McDonald, Letourneau to make Bellator debuts in Newcastle

Paul Abell / US PRESSWIRE

A pair of ex-UFC fighters will make their Bellator debuts across the pond before the year is out.

Bantamweight Michael McDonald and flyweight Valerie Letourneau are set to fight under the promotion's banner for the first time at Bellator 190 on Dec. 15 in Newcastle, England, according to Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting.

Their opponents have not yet been determined.

McDonald - a former UFC interim title challenger - has alternated wins and losses over his past four fights spanning as many years, much of which he spent on the shelf with injuries. The 26-year-old parted ways with the UFC after falling to John Lineker by first-round KO last July. He heads to Bellator with a 17-4 professional record.

Letourneau moves up to her ideal weight class of 125 pounds following a three-fight skid at strawweight in the UFC, where she challenged reigning queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 193. The 34-year-old was slated to make her Bellator debut opposite Emily Ducote in July, only to pull out just a few days prior to the card with an injury.

Bellator 190 will be co-promoted by leading British outfit BAMMA. A main event has not yet been announced for the card.
