Peyton Manning: 'I am all in' on Butch Jones at Tennessee

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

A number of people have placed Butch Jones on the hot seat after Tennessee's dramatic loss to Florida earlier this season, but Peyton Manning isn't one of them.

The former Volunteers legend is still in Jones' corner as head coach of Tennessee, and voiced his support on Wednesday on Nashville radio.

"I am all in, and I am behind Butch Jones," Manning said on 104.5 FM The Zone, as per Mike Griffith of SEC Country. "I saw (Jones) last Friday. I was in Knoxville for a fundraiser for the university, and he was as disappointed as anybody about losing to Florida down there in that heartbreaking fashion."

While Jones takes a lot of heat throughout the season, the Volunteers have been a solid program since he took over five years ago. They are off to a 3-1 start this season, but are 0-1 in SEC play, a record that certainly won't strengthen his job security with No. 7 Georgia coming to town on Saturday.

While some Tennessee fans may want a change, Jones can rest easy with the knowledge that he has the support of the best player in program history.
